A Class 30 locomotive designed by Henry Greenly and built in 1912 by Bassett-Lowke Ltd. The first was sold to Sir Robert Walker for his private Sand Hutton Railway near York, and was named after his wife, Synolda. It later ran at funfairs at Southend and Belle Vue Zoo in Manchester before being presented to the museum in 1978. Synolda is identical to Sans Pareil which ran at the R&ER in 1915, and wears the blue livery of Narrow Gauge Railways Ltd.
